Pictures at an Exhibition

Did you know I’ve had 3 paintings selected by the judging panel for the Castle Park Art Centre Open Exhibition 2023? I’d responded to a call out for artists that I’d spotted on social media. The first step was to complete a form describing my paintings, giving the medium used, the dimensions, titles and prices plus high-resolution images and submit it by email with confirmation that the submission entry fee had been paid.

If the judging panel assessed any of your paintings as meeting the criteria they had set, you’d be notified by email of the dates and times to drop off your artworks. A couple of weeks passed in anticipation, before the email arrived informing me that all 3 had been passed by the panel. Great news!

All paintings were required to be expertly framed and have a specific type of mount attached to them called a mirror mount. This meant a quick call to the professional framer I’ve used for exhibitions since 2017 - Alan Wallace of Frames4Artists over in the Peak District.

The 38th Open Exhibition runs from 10 November to 23 December 2023, Tues to Sat, 10 am to 4 pm. With the launch reception 7 -9 pm on Friday 11 November 2023. And, if you're looking for something inspirational and uplifting to do on the run-up to Christmas do visit Castle Park Arts Centre in Frodsham. It's a lovely market town.
